Kim Miller-Clark founded dance for a cure in 2006. After losing her father to lung cancer, Kim decided that she needed to do something to find a cure for this terrible disease. Dance for a Cure is a community of dancers from in and around the Tulsa area who come together every January in the hope of finding a cure for cancer and to support those who are and have battled this terrible disease. 100% of the proceeds goes to benefit the American Cancer Society. In 2012 Dance for a Cure had over 3000 spectators and 500 dancers participate and support our cause.
She is originally from Sapulpa, Ok, where she began dancing at the age of 4. She was awarded numerous dance scholarships and awards throughout her high school years, including the 1994 Oklahoma Excellence in Art award and Miss Dance of Oklahoma. Upon graduation she moved to Chicago, IL to pursue her professional career in dance. For the next 8 years, Kim traveled the United States and Europe with Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, River North Dance Chicago and the Radio City Rockettes. She has had the privilege to work with such choreographers as Mia Michaels, Gus Giordano, Frank Chaves, Sherry Zunker, Danny Ezralow, Joe Tremaine, and Sam Watson. In 2000 Ms. Clark returned home and now enjoys the art of dance through her students eyes. Kim is the owner of Extension Dance Academy in Broken Arrow, Ok. Her students have been awarded numerous state and nationals titles.
